Over 65 Flu Vaccines have arrived!
If you are over 65 there could now be a flu vaccine with your name on it. Our over 65 flu vaccines have arrived and our service is underway. Anyone can catch the flu and spread it to others. Most people recover within a week but for anyone in the NHS at-risk categories, flu can mean hospitalisation, serious complications such as pneumonia, or can even be life threatening. If you have an underlying health condition, the flu may also make your condition worse.
Symptoms can include fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, extreme fatigue, a dry cough, sore throat and stuffy nose.
How does flu vaccination work?
The flu vaccination triggers your body to make antibodies that help protect you against the influenza virus, and it can take 10 to 14 days for immunity to develop. After this, if you're

Registered care homes staff and domiciliary care workers are entitled to a FREE flu vaccination. WHO Issues new guidance on Face Masks
The World Health Organization (WHO) has changed its advice on face masks, saying they should be worn in public where social distancing is not possible to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
The global body said new information showed they could provide 'a barrier for potentially infectious droplets'.
The WHO had previously argued there was not enough evidence to say that healthy people should wear masks.
However, WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed that 'in light of evolving evidence, the WHO advises that governments should encourage the general public to wear masks where there is widespread transmission and physical distancing is difficult, such as on public transport, in shops or in other confined or crowded environments'.
