WHO Issues new guidance on Face Masks
The World Health Organization (WHO) has changed its advice on face masks, saying they should be worn in public where social distancing is not possible to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
The global body said new information showed they could provide 'a barrier for potentially infectious droplets'.
The WHO had previously argued there was not enough evidence to say that healthy people should wear masks.
However, WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed that 'in light of evolving evidence, the WHO advises that governments should encourage the general public to wear masks where there is widespread transmission and physical distancing is difficult, such as on public transport, in shops or in other confined or crowded environments'.

Breastfeeding Celebration Week - 1 - 7 June 2020
Breastfeeding Celebration Week is taking place during the week 1st – 7th June 2020. The theme will be ‘Promoting and supporting breastfeeding during the Covid-19 pandemic’.
Breastfeeding Friend from Start4Life
Start4Life, Public Health England’s marketing programme that helps parents adopt healthy behaviours, has launched a national campaign illustrating the suite of digital support tools available to support mums through their first weeks of breastfeeding and beyond.
Breastfeeding provides all the nutrition a baby needs for the first six months and also helps build a strong emotional bond between a mum and her baby. Breast milk also helps boost a baby’s ability to fight illness and infection by passing on the mother’s immune defences. Babies who are not breastfed are more likely to get

Paying Tribute to Mandy
Today we have been paying tribute to our beloved colleague Mandy. Across the branches and at her funeral, we are remembering Mandy with love. We send a huge thank you to Mandy’s close family for organising such a beautiful service at Landican today, totally fitting for such a wonderful lady. Our staff have released balloons up to the heavens today and if you see us wearing ribbons, these are in memory of Mandy in the colour she loved. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be with us always.

It is with much sadness that we acknowledge the loss of one of our Swettenham “family”, Mandy, who passed away as a result of contracting coronavirus. Mandy worked across our Wirral and Chester branches as a registered checking technician, the highest non-pharmacist role, and did so with outstanding professionalism and accuracy. We are all devastated by this tragic loss and our thoughts go out to all who knew her. Mandy is being remembered as a loyal, hardworking, dedicated and joyous friend to all of us. Yesterday was probably the hardest day the teams have ever faced. Every single member of staff dealt with their emotions in order to get on with the task in hand to dispense the medication our patients need. Our admiration for the teams’ professionalism and loyalty knows no bounds. We cou
