Prescription Requests - New Procedure starting 1st February 2024 

All patients throughout Cheshire/Wirral are now being advised that repeat prescription requests should be made directly to their GP practice and NOT via a community pharmacy.

This has been decided by the NHS for safety reasons as ordering your prescription directly from your practice means that your GP can better monitor and control your medications.

Your GP would like you to order your prescription using one of the following apps.  Select Swettenham Chemists as your nominated pharmacy and your prescription will be sent directly to us.

  Owned and run by the NHS, your NHS account is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services online including Repeat Prescriptions, Appointments, your medical records and much more.  https://help.login.nhs.uk/setupnhslogin/
  
  

2. Patient Access - www.patientaccess.com/
   

• Patient Access connects you to local health services when you need them most. Book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions and discover local health services for you or your family via your mobile or home computer.
  

If you are not able to use these methods:

• Contact or check your surgery’s website for their prescription ordering process.
  
• Drop your repeat medication slip into the surgery.
  

From 28th February 2024 we will no longer be able to accept phone requests to check the status of repeat prescriptions.

Please allow 7 working days before attempting to collect your prescription from our pharmacy. If you are without support, vulnerable or disabled and are unable to order your prescription then contact us.
