This February Swettenham Chemists is supporting NHS England's 'Pharmacy Advice' campaign under the overarching brand 'Help us Help You'.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage the public to use their local pharmacy as their first choice of healthcare setting for clinical advice for minor health concerns such as coughs, colds, tummy troubles and aches and pains. It is hoped the campaign will help to further build the public's trust and confidence in community pharmacists and the pharmacy team as providers of care, and ensure minor illnesses are effectively managed in the right place.
The 'Making Time in General Practice' report commissioned by NHS England and published in October 2015 shows that 27% of general practice appointments in England could potentially be treated elsewhere partly through better use of other primary care services. The research suggests that approximately 18 million of these appointments could be treated through self-care and community pharmacies.
So the next time you have a minor illness don't wait until it gets worse ask your Swettenham Chemists pharmacy team for advice. Help us Help you.
