New Pharmacy Services - Expanding Pharmacy Services

The Government is expanding pharmacy services to make it quicker and easier to get treatment.

Changes agreed with NHS England and pharmacies will:

empower pharmacists to use their skills

offer patients more choice in their care

The new services:

From December 2023 - initial oral contraception appointments and more blood pressure checks

From February 2024 - treatment for sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bite, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women
